OMGYUANMING

If I had a nickel for every time I've said "Why on earth have I never been inside this store before?" in the past month or so...

It continued today. Needed shrimp paste for tomorrow, and wanted something to do this afternoon, so off in search of good Asian groceries I went. Yuan Ming was where I ended up.

And it is one of those places where I could easily blow several hours or hundreds of dollars or both. I hadn't been in there five minutes before seeing fifty things that I wanted to buy and just figure out some way to cook them, dinner plans be damned. The produce counters! OMG! The fish counter! OMGGG! The meat counter! The SAUCE AISLE AS FAR AS THE EYE COULD SEE

I fucking love grocery shopping.

So, long story short, I got my shrimp paste for tomorrow's stir-fry, as well as udon noodles (four-packs, 2 for $3!), lemongrass, sriracha, blah blah blah AND I saw these *adorable* mini baby eggplants -- a bag of 'em for $1 -- and they were SO cute and rotund and ebony-purple and perfect that I just could not leave without buying them. What am I going to do with them? Who knows? But they're amazing.

Okay off to go ponder the eggplant and make my preplanned but generally unexciting chicken and potatoes din-dins.
